I’m writing to you from underneath my cat, which isn’t a RIE win, but feels like a life win, even if my arm is starting to fall asleep a little bit!
This week’s RIE win feels just as sweet as my snoozing cat because it was my own experience…and it’s just as sweet and simple, but a true gift. My win this week was the joy I felt as I spent a couple of hours explaining RIE to someone who is new to it.
That’s it.
That might not seem like a lot, but it is pretty much everything.
A couple of weeks ago, when I was dipping my toe back into my class schedule, I was sending a text to a friend. I typed the words “I’m back to work this week” and my helpful phone suggested an emoji to add.
This one: ☹.
And I actually laughed out loud. That is not at all how I think about my work!
I love telling people about RIE, seeing their eyes light up as the information clicks. The questions they ask; the memories they share…the excitement they get when they think about trying some of the things we talk about or when they get to see their child do something amazing. I had this moment yesterday, as I was listening to my new student share her excitement and curiosity about this Approach where it hit me (again)…I love this work!
And if that’s not a win, I don’t know what is.
Thank you all for allowing me to do what I love!
